We provide a range of options to meet your capacity building needs. Whether it’s an education session or a guest speaker to share a lived experience, the following should be considered when looking to address your needs.
Guest speaker: We recommend a minimum 45 minute time-slot to ensure good engagement and outcomes for participants. The LGBTIQA+ person can share their story (30 minutes) and field questions from the audience.
Training: Whether it’s an LGBTI-101 session (which covers the acronym, some videos and statistics, good practice resources and examples, pronouns, allyship, etc.), or an LGBTI-102 session (which is much more hands on, such as auditing existing forms for inclusion, case study exploration, workgroups looking at adjusting language to adhere to best practice communication with LGBTIQA+ community members, etc.), 2-3hrs is the way to go.
