OUT in Nathalia (Colour My World – The GV Experience) | Official Opening
OUTintheOPEN Festival 2024 is going “OUT in Nathalia” for an art exhibition at The G.R.A.I.N. Store from Wednesday Nov 6 to Saturday Nov 16. The art exhibition will feature local LGBTQIA+ artists who were asked to respond to the theme “Colour My World”. To officially open the exhibition, there will be an event on Thursday Nov 7 from 6pm, where the participating artists will be invited to speak about their artwork, have a drink and a nibble, and explore the gallery. Then at 7pm, there’ll be a live performance in the gallery’s backyard by local musicians Scarlet Dahlias supported by Indigo Carter.
A mini-bus will be available for transport to and from the opening event, stopping at Mooroopna KFC at 5:15pm and Shepparton Library at 5:30pm. The bus will be leaving Nathalia at 8:45pm.
This is a free event with free nibbles but drinks will be at bar prices.
To finish the exhibition on Saturday Nov 16, there’ll be a painting session with the festival’s Artistic Director Ruby, for the ‘Colour My World Greater Shepparton Banner’ project.
The G.R.A.I.N. Store is a small, volunteer-run art gallery on Blake Street in Nathalia. Opening hours are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11-4pm.
Accessibility: The front door has 2 steps and the back door is a big sliding door with no steps. There are 2 all-gender toilets, but no all-access toilets. The backyard has a gravel ground.
The Community Recovery Hub is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments.
This event is part of the Out in the Open Festival.
